The Ugly Truth Behind White Stretch Marks

Basically, stretch marks come in two colors: the red ones and the white ones. The thing is, no matter what the difference is, people who care so much about their looks will most likely want to get rid of the ugly marks on their bodies. Just like many other skin problems, there are various remedies available for both red and white stretch marks.

One can choose from treatments that are using modern medicine or those that can be usually found at home. Those who can afford to spend a pretty cost for treatments that may sometimes require maintenance procedure can opt for a cosmetic surgery, a microdermabrasion, or a laser treatment.

However, those who are on a tighter budget can use a lot of creams like bleaching creams, scar treatment creams, topical creams that are cocoa or shea butter based, or even lotions.

These treatments have different ways of providing remedy to stretch mark problems. Topical creams minimize the mark’s appearance by moisturizing and hydrating the skin; microdermabrasion gets rid of marks through a more gentle and a more efficient way of exfoliation.

But whatever their way of curing is, one thing is for sure: there is a difference between how treatments work on red stretch marks and white stretch marks.

Stretch marks that are fresher (those that are red or pink n color) have higher chances of being successfully treated or removed. Almost all of the cures available for stretch marks can only be effective on newer and fresher marks. For some reason, it is harder to get rid of awful streaks on the skin that are older and that have faded into a silvery white.

But while these faded stretch marks may not be completely erased by any treatment, their appearance can be reduced to the point that they are almost invisible. The less apparent the marks are, the more confidence one can have. In that case, white stretch marks can be no big problem.
